Meet Nick Goodman

I started dancing during the late 1980’s and dancing has been my life and my escape. Back then I was offered a place at Sylvia Youngs School of Performing Arts but unfortunately there was very little or no funding for these schools and my family were unable to help or pay for my funding so sadly I was not able at accept the offer and moved into the world of catering, leaving the family home at the age of 15 to follow both my parents footsteps in becoming a chef.

Shortly after I earned a position within a hotel management trainee program with the Forte Hotel chain giving me the opportunity of working and traveling around the world with them! What an experience I had and the amount of celebrities and well known people I had the pleasure to meeting and serving during my career.

Although I am now celebrating my 34th year within my career, I have had the pleasure of understudying various positions within the London’s  west End Theatre including ‘Rum Tum Tiger’ in "Cats", and Benjamin in "Joseph and the Amazing Techni coloured Dreamcoat". I have also had the pleasure of working with the Dundee Rep Company so you could say my dancing / performing arts career has been a big part of my life.

Way back in school I taught other students to dance holding dance classes during my lunch breaks, choreographing  many dances.

Michael and I were friends for over 20 years before 4 years ago, finally, against all odds, becoming a partnership (especially our own). We actually complement each other in many ways. Michael introduced me to the wonderful world of Line Dance to which I couldn’t wait to join and be a part of. This is something we now share together and love, it is our escape.

Sadly, just after CBA’s 2018 I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. However I do have time on my side (and will continue to fight – bring it on!). Line dance and the line dance world has given me a welcome escape, the constant love and support  I receive keeps me going and very active to which I really do appreciate and hold very dear to me.

Lets keep on dancing and love doing what we do, thanks for reading just a little about me and I look forward to dancing with you on the dance floor somewhere!
